Dr. Lynda Keaveney

Chief Clinical Officer, Vhi Health and Wellbeing

Lynda is a General Practitioner for over 20 years and has worked as a GP both in Ireland and abroad including Australia, Canada, and Qatar.

Lynda trained as a doctor in Galway, before completing her General Practice training in the Western GP training programme, graduating in 2003. She worked as a GP for a number of years in the west of Ireland, and also held the role of Assistant Programme Director of the Western GP Training Programme at this time. During her time working as a rural GP in Canada she was also appointed to the Council of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan and was involved in both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training.

Lynda has a strong interest in clinical governance and patient safety and has significant experience in this area from both her time in Canada and also in Qatar where she was appointed as Head of Clinical Governance, Risk Management and Quality Improvement for a mobile healthcare service within the national ambulance service. During the covid pandemic this service held key responsibility for a large number of covid testing sites, as well as monitoring of covid positive patients in the home.

Since joining Vhi Health & Wellbeing in 2020, Lynda has been involved in the establishment of the Vhi 360 Health Centre in Limerick, development of a number of Health & Wellbeing Clinical Services and now oversees the delivery of clinical services across areas including Urgent Care, Care@Home, Paediatrics, MSK and Primary Care services.
