Prior to joining EIT Health, Elaine led the communications department at tech start-up Cubic Telecom for six years. Cubic since signed Ireland’s biggest tech deal, reaching a valuation of over €927m.
Elaine was previously responsible for health policy research at the Delegation of the European Union to the USA. This was followed by numerous communications roles held across health, environmental, and international development not-for-profit organisations, which include the Irish Heart Foundation and ActionAid. She began her career in administrative roles at Blackrock Clinic and St. Vincent’s Private Hospital.
Elaine holds an MSc in Corporate Communication and Public Affairs from Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, and a BA in Business and Political Science from Trinity College Dublin.
Having joined EIT Health in 2021, Elaine drives the public affairs and stakeholder relations agenda. She leads on local think tank activities, forges strategic alliances, and aids ecosystem development. Elaine engages on key policy topics for the Ireland-UK team and supports strategic implementation on initiatives set by EU institutions. She sits on both national and pan-European steering committees in the area of health data access.
Elaine’s interests lie in advancing health sector collaboration, data-driven technologies that support patient self-management of conditions, and climate impact on human health.
Elaine has previously contributed research on the topic of health education in European Union member states to Johns Hopkins University and World Bank publications.
