The Nuffield Trust is an independent health think tank in the UK that aims to improve the quality of health care by providing evidence-based research and policy analysis. Sarah is the Trust’s lead expert and spokesperson on international health policy, leading the Trust’s work on comparative analysis and benchmarking. Her work has focused on a range of topics, including how health systems better integrate health and social care, improve capacity in community health services, and address common challenges like delayed discharges and growing waiting lists for hospital care.
Prior to joining the Trust, she worked as an Improvement Fellow at the Health Foundation where she led a research portfolio focused on the role of the NHS in reducing health inequalities. Previously, Sarah has worked as Network and Policy Manager at the NHS Confederation. There she led policy analysis and oversaw the strategic development and delivery of NHSCC’s member networks in the areas of finance and governance. She also worked as Programme Director at the Institute for Clinical and Economic Review (ICER), a research organisation based in the US that evaluates the clinical and economic value of prescription drugs, medical tests, and other health care and health care delivery innovations.
