Bernie is responsible for the design and update of a series of cancer awareness presentations on all the most common cancer types and on cancer prevention. She has over 25 years’ experience working in oncology in Ireland, UK, Australia and Canada.
Bernie has presented in cancer awareness for over 20 years and is passionate about empowering individuals with the knowledge to care for their own health, which in turn will help to decrease the rate of cancer diagnosis or help diagnosis cancer at an early stage. Prevention is ideally the best but if cancer is diagnosed at an early stage the outcome is generally going to be better.
Bernie spent over 10 years in Vancouver where she worked at a senior level in the British Columbia Cancer Agency. She took her oncology training in the Royal Marsden in the UK and the Peter MacCallum hospital in Melbourne, Australia. She also has an MSc from Trinity College Dublin with a master thesis in oncology.
